El Dorado County’s economic development program is part of the County’s Administrative Office and is dedicated to the recruitment, retention and expansion of businesses within the county. The Economic Development Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and implementation of the economic development program.
The Economic Development Coordinator (EDC) is the liaison for the business community and the federal, state, county, and regional offices, agencies, and programs concerning economic development. Businesses should contact the EDC with any concerns they may have regarding their business.
The EDC can provide businesses with the following demographic and economic data:
- Available real estate listings
- Site tours
- Project coordination through the land development process (federal, state, and county offices and agencies)
- Employee training and recruitment
- Financial resources
- Facilitate meetings

Business Resource Center
The Business Resource Center (BRC) is designed by the El Dorado County Chamber of Commerce to assist small business and entrepreneurs start, operate and grow their businesses. The BRC offers most resources to the small business owner or entrepreneur for free. Some services such as seminars and classes require a small fee due to the quality of the teachers and speakers.
The El Dorado County Chamber of Commerce operates the BRC with collaborative partners: El Dorado County Office of Economic Development, Golden Sierra Job Training, Small Business Administration, Connections, Employment Development Department, Department of Social Service Employment Services and Experience Works. The BRC is here to help and support entrepreneurs and small business in El Dorado County.
